The G9400 is Toshiba's megawatt UPS, 1200, 1600 and 2000 kVA at 480 V, built from 400 kW parallel power modules on Gen-7 CSTBT IGBTs. It holds about 97% online efficiency across the load range in a small footprint. The parallel-module design is inherently redundant: if a module faults, the rest stay online in double conversion as long as the load is within their capacity, instead of dropping the whole unit to bypass. Up to six systems parallel for capacity or N+x redundancy.
Each module carries a DC isolation contactor (CB2) as standard (many competitors make it an option) so the UPS can take a single module offline on a fan failure while the others keep supplying double-conversion power, and it meets the UL 1778 EPO isolation requirement without external relay schemes. 100 kAIC fuses are standard in the static bypass. A selectable High Efficiency Hibernate mode rests modules below ~50% load for up to ~3% more system efficiency, rotating them so they age evenly.
